Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers about web design, video production, and advertising with Connecticut Website Company. Pricing, timelines, process — all in one place.
Working with Connecticut Website Company
Who is Connecticut Website Company and what do you do?+
Connecticut Website Company is a Southington-based digital agency founded by Rich Conway, a 25+ year Connecticut broadcaster. We provide three pillars of service: custom web design and development, broadcast-quality video production from our in-house studio, and multi-channel advertising (TV, radio, streaming, social).
Where are you located and do you serve all of Connecticut?+
Our studio is at 480 Queen St, Suite C, Southington, CT 06489 — central to Hartford, New Haven, and Waterbury. We serve all 169 Connecticut towns. The Southington base puts us within an hour and change of every town in the state, and we work in person whenever it makes sense.
What makes you different from other Connecticut web agencies?+
Two things. First, we're broadcast-pedigreed — Rich spent 25+ years in Connecticut radio before founding the agency, so the storytelling and production quality is at a different level. Second, we own our own green-screen studio in Southington — we're the only full-service web agency in CT that can produce a TV commercial in-house without outsourcing.
How do I get started?+
Call 860-877-7770 or fill out any form on the site. We respond within 24 hours, set up a free 15-minute scoping call, and follow up with a fixed-price quote. No high-pressure sales — most of our clients come from referrals and we plan to keep it that way.
Web Design & Development
How much does a Connecticut web design project cost?+
We typically aim to save Connecticut small businesses 20% off what they're currently paying. Most engagements anchor around $1,000 to launch and $299/month ongoing — but every scope is different, so we give a real fixed-price quote after a free 15-minute scoping call. No 'starting from' games.
What is Duplication Rocket?+
It's our easy-button option. If you already have a website built by a professional designer and you mostly like it, we'll rebuild it on a modern stack — same copy, same photos, same look — and you save 20% off your current designer's bill. No redesign needed. See /duplication-rocket for the full pitch.
How long does it take to launch a new website?+
A standard Connecticut small-business site launches in 4–6 weeks from kickoff. Larger sites with custom integrations take 8–12 weeks. Duplication Rocket rebuilds typically wrap up in 2–4 weeks. We give a realistic timeline before any contract and we hit our dates.
Will my site be mobile-friendly and ADA-compliant?+
Yes — every site we build is mobile-first and meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards by default. ADA compliance is a baseline, not an upcharge.
Can you redesign my existing site without losing SEO rankings?+
Yes — that's a specialty for established Connecticut businesses. We map every existing URL, set up 301 redirects, preserve content structure, and monitor Search Console for two months post-launch to catch anything that slips. Your rankings stay intact.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?+
Yes. Monthly maintenance is built into the standard $299/month plan — covering security patches, backups, performance tuning, and small content updates. Bigger sites or more frequent updates may run higher; we quote per business after the scoping call.
Video Production & The Studio
Where is your green screen studio?+
Our studio is at 480 Queen St, Suite C, Southington, CT — central to the I-84 corridor, about 20 minutes from Hartford, New Haven, and Waterbury.
How much does it cost to film at your studio?+
Studio time is quoted per session — typically a half-day or full-day rate that includes the studio, lighting, camera operator, and basic editing. Add-ons like teleprompter, voiceover, or post-production color grading are quoted separately. Most CT small-business clients fold studio time into their monthly plan rather than paying per-session, which works out cheaper.
Can you produce a TV commercial start to finish?+
Yes — script, storyboard, casting, shoot, edit, music licensing, and broadcast placement on Connecticut TV stations. Quoted per project after we know the scope; most CT small businesses access TV affordably through our Ad Share Program rather than going solo.
What is a 360° virtual tour and why would I need one?+
It's an immersive, fully-navigable view of your business interior — customers can virtually walk through your restaurant, retail space, or event venue from your website or Google Business Profile. Restaurants and event venues see the largest conversion lifts because customers know exactly what they're walking into.
Can you help with podcast production?+
Yes. We launch and produce podcasts in our broadcast studio with a 25-year pro at the desk — equipment, editing, music licensing, distribution to all major platforms. Most podcast clients are on a per-episode or monthly retainer.
Process, Pricing & Logistics
How does pricing work — fixed-price or hourly?+
Fixed-price for projects (websites, videos, commercials) — you know the number before signing. Ongoing services (maintenance, advertising management, SEO) are flat monthly retainers. We anchor most small-business engagements around $1,000 to launch and $299/month, and we typically aim to save you 20% off your current vendor stack.
How does the 20% savings claim work?+
Most Connecticut small businesses pay multiple vendors — a web designer, a video producer, an ad agency, separate hosting, separate SEO. We do all of it under one monthly bill, and the math usually comes in 20% lower. Bring your current invoices to the scoping call and we'll show you the exact comparison.
Do I need to come to your Southington studio for a project?+
Not always — most web design projects can run remotely. For video shoots and commercial productions, on-site filming at our studio is typical, but we also do on-location filming throughout Connecticut.
How quickly do you respond to inquiries?+
Within 24 hours. Most calls during business hours (Mon–Fri 9–5) get a same-day response. For urgent matters, calling 860-877-7770 is faster than the form.
Do you sign NDAs before discussing a project?+
Yes, on request. We work with law firms, healthcare practices, and professional services where confidentiality matters — happy to sign before any scoping conversation.
What if I just need help figuring out what I need?+
Free 15-minute scoping calls are exactly for that. Most CT business owners don't know whether they need a redesign, an ad campaign, a video, or all three. We tell you what we'd actually recommend — even if it's something we don't sell.
